A Tribute To The Silver Shamrock Commercial from Halloween III

“It’s almost time kids! The clock is ticking! Be in front of your TV sets for the horrorthon, and remember the big giveaway at 9. Don’t miss it, and don’t forget to wear your masks. The clock is ticking. It’s almost time.”

Previously, we spoke a bit about the underrated fun that is Halloween III: Season of the Witch. But with Halloween mere days away, we wanted to pay tribute to the movie’s Silver Shamrock commercial — the ad promoting the mask McGuffin that helps bring about the end of the world in the flick (more or less). Using the melody of “London Bridge Is Falling Down” — mainly because the tune is public domain and therefore saving the filmmaker’s the cost of licensing a song or hiring someone to write a jingle — the Silver Shamrock ad is one of the most notorious earworm’s ever committed to celluloid. We have included the complete Silver Shamrock commercial above, but be warned, this thing will be stuck in your head until at least Thanksgiving. Happy happy Halloween, Halloween, Halloween. Happy happy Halloween Silver Shamrock!
