The midway point of the 20th century saw the official start of the Korean War, the debut of the comic strip “Peanuts,” and diplomat Ralph Bunche becoming the first Black American to win a Nobel Prize. 1950 was also the year that some of the most unforgettable movies of the Classic Hollywood era came out, from acerbic behind-the-scenes looks at show business (All About Eve, Sunset Boulevard) to beloved comedies (Father of the Bride, Harvey) and the big-screen debuts of Marlon Brando (The Men) and Sidney Poitier (No Way Out). For this week’s poll, we’re asking you to vote for your top 75th anniversary film. If your fave 1950 flick isn’t on our list (the internet is only so big, after all), let us know in the comments below.
