It seems hard to believe, but a number of classic Hollywood films are celebrating their 100th birthday this year. The Age of Silent Movies may have reached its peak in 1925. The roster of releases ranges from groundbreaking war drama (The Big Parade) and timeless comedy (The Gold Rush) to elegant horror (The Phantom of the Opera) and Alfred Hitchcock’s directorial debut (The Pleasure Garden).
