Jeanette Anna MacDonald was a singer and actress best remembered for her musicals of the 1930s and her pairing with Nelson Eddy She is best remembered for her musicals Naughty Marietta (1935), and Maytime (1937). Jeanette MacDonald was nominated four times for Best Picture Oscars (The Love Parade, One Hour with You, Naughty Marietta and San Francisco). MacDonald was one of the most influential sopranos of the 20th century, introducing opera to movie-going audiences.
