Nick and Nora were so much fun. They were smart, funny, stylish and oh so cool. Watching them was like eavesdropping on a marriage. These were two people who could laugh at each other. They knew that they shared the kind of respect that made their work work. Had they not cooperated they could not have solved crimes. In the end they kept their world in order, and we could be there to be assured that a man and a woman could be a team of equals. I'm not so sure we could find two such people today.

I have always loved "The Thin Man." Not only is it a great mystery, it's also an hilarious comedy. The scene in which Nick thanks his wife for the gift of a dart gun as he shoots ornaments on a Christmas tree is priceless!

Don't forget William Warren. If I'm not mistaken he portrayed a couple of sleuths in the 30s and 40s, including the Lone Wolf.
