Sure, Bela Lugosi is easily the most famous movie Dracula, but Christopher Lee put his own menacing mark on the role. Beginning with 1958’s Dracula (known in the U.S. as Horror of Dracula), the London-born actor portrayed Bram Stoker’s undying vampire lord in seven Hammer Films shockers. He also played the title role in director Jess Franco’s novel-accurate Count Dracula in 1970. Lee donned the cape a final time for the 1976 French spoof Dracula and Son (aka Dracula Père et Fils).
For this week’s FanFare poll, we invite you to raise a glass of…wine in a salute to the malevolent genius of Christopher Lee, and to vote for which of his Dracula performances you think was best. Feel free to leave comments below, and be sure not to take any wooden stakes.
