It’s been 20 years since Freaks and Geeks Paul Feig and Judd Apatow‘s dramedy series about growing up in early-1980s Michigan first debuted on NBC. A critical favorite, the series not got the attention it deserved and it was unceremoniously cancelled after one 18-episode season.
The show was in so many ways ahead of its time, not only in tackling the struggles of growing up in a funny and (at times) painfully realistic way, but also in a cast of young stars who would go on to dominate Hollywood shortly after the show left the air — including Seth Rogen, Jason Segal, James Franco, Linda Cardellini, and Martin Starr.
