“Muppets Most Wanted” Can Get You Anything You Want

Muppets Most Wanted is easily the funniest film starring Jim Henson‘s legendary puppet creations since 1981’s epic The Great Muppet Caper. It is also the most underrated. Released in 2014, the film has Kermit and the gang taking their show across Europe under the guidance of the subtlety named Dominic Badguy (Ricky Gervais) — a villain who is working with the evil Kermit doppelganger Constantine to rob priceless treasures all across the continent while our hero finds himself stuck in a Russian gulag run by the ruthless warden Nadya (Tina Fey). Adding to the film’s hilarity are great songs from Flight of the ConchordsBret McKenzie (who previously won a Best Original Song Academy Award for “Man or Muppet” from the 2011 comeback film The Muppets). The best of which is “I’ll Get You What You Want (Cockatoo in Malibu).” Sung by Constantine — who is posing as Kermit — the song chronicles all the things that he would do to win Miss Piggy’s heart, from giving her an ice cream cone to a mortgage loan. It feels very much in line with some of the greatest Joe Raposo Sesame Street/Muppet songs, and would almost certainly bring a smile to Jim Henson’s face. The scene featuring the tune is embedded above, and we encourage you to watch the entire film because it truly does deliver exactly what you want from a Muppets adventure.
