Today is Alien Day, a celebration of Fox’s long-running sci-fi franchise. If you search around online today you’ll notice a variety of tributes to the face-hugging xenomorphs. Why is such a manufactured holiday happening on April 26th? Because of LV-426, the planet seen in the first two films. It’s the type of stretch that only marketing folks could have come up with, but I’m more than willing to overlook the arbitrary goofiness of all of this if it gives me an excuse to write about the Alien films, as it does here, so everybody wins! You can kickstart your celebrations of Alien Day by watching the trailer for Ridley Scott’s 1979 classic above.
