Good morning! Hopefully you all are rested and refreshed after that extra hour of sleep. If not, we’re going to let Rodgers and Hammerstein give you some Monday morning adrenaline in the form of the rousing “Oh, What a Beautiful Mornin'” number from the 1955 film version of Oklahoma!
Here, Gordon MacRae (as the complicated cowhand Curly) sings an ode to the beauty of the nature and the optimism of a new day. (Watching this you can practically feel the wind come sweeping down the plains). It’s one of the greatest movie musical moments in history, and a great way to kick off your week…unless the weather where you are isn’t nice, in which case think of this as an escape to better days ahead!
