Which Film from the Summer of 1989 Is Your Favorite?

For the past couple of weeks, MovieFanFare has been celebrating the 30th anniversary of the summer movies of 1989. This was a film season that gave us contemporary classics like Do the Right Thing, Batman, Dead Poets Society, Lethal Weapon 2, and Young Einstein. (Well maybe not so much on that last one). Indiana Jones, Batman, Lethal Weapon II and Licence to Kill. Not really a great summer compared to other years.

True, but certainly not the summer of 2019. I haven’t seen nor heard of any upcoming movie this summer that is worth the price of admission. Hollywood has digressed to the repeated themes of Marvel Comics and special effects thereof. Creativity is apparently dead.

“The Abyss” is Cameron’s Masterpiece IMHO 🙂
