The latest installment in the ever-growing Star Wars saga is Solo: A Star Wars Story. Even though the film was only released on Thursday, it, like Star Wars: The Last Jedi before it, has spawned endless thinkpieces either debating whether its under-performance at the box office (in comparison to other entries in the franchise) is a result of “Star Wars fatigue” or analyzing the great Easter eggs featured in the film. And yes, you did see the Fertility Idol from Raiders of the Lost Ark in Dryden Vos’ office.
But all that aside, the fact remains that regardless of your views on whether or not Solo: A Star Wars Story is actually necessary, it is an enjoyable popcorn flick that deepens the titular character’s backstory while introducing some interesting new wrinkles to the Star Wars galaxy. (Feel free to share your views on the film in the comments below, just be respectful or we will feed to you a rathtar).
No Star Wars film would be complete without tie-in merchandise, and Solo has plenty of it, including:
• Mystery Mini figures featuring the characters from the film. These mini toys come packaged in so-called “blind boxes,” meaning that you don’t know who you’ll get until you open the packaging. (Mystery Mini plushes are also available). Insert “never tell me the odds” joke here.
• The hardcover book Solo: A Star Wars Story: The Official Guide tells you everything you ever wanted to know about the film’s characters, locations, aliens and more. Includes stunning rare photographs and, of course, a detailed look at the Millennium Falcon.
So as you can see, there’s something Solo for everyone — and bringing that galaxy far, far away home with you has never been so much fun!
