It was Christmas and I was bored, flipping through various movie channels, when I happened upon Rare Exports: A Christmas Tale (2010) directed by Jalmari Helander. It was new to me. So I watched it, at times delighted, other times horrified. Nothing jolly about this Santa or his elves!

Two I can think of, but not this exact same genre – “Beyond Christmas,” AKA “Beyond Tomorrow” (1940) where the ghosts of three industrialists killed in a crash come back – the scene where the one refuses to repent, and must take the black road downwards………………….chilling!
Also, “Christmas Holiday” with Gene Kelly and Deanna Durbin (1944) a very noir movie where Deanna Durbin is singing in a”roadhouse” obviously a brothel, and is in fear of her estranged killer husband Gene Kelly!

Are these hard to find? I’ve never heard of them. Christmas Holiday DEF sounds worthy of checking out.
