Earlier this week, we shared a post about the classic 1946 film The Best Years of Our Lives. The reason this film has endured across generations is because it is an honest and inspirational look at how veterans — from World War II in this particular case — often have a difficult time re-adjusting to civilian life. These brave men and women endure huge sacrifices and demonstrate incredible courage and heroism in order to protect our way of life, and they should be remembered and respected, on this Veterans Day and always.
Many of you will be commemorating today by watching films that chronicle the experiences of our soldiers such as Saving Private Ryan (which itself was inspired by actual events). If you are doing the same, please tell us which of these many films you are watching and why in the comments below. And if you encounter any veterans today, be sure to thank them for their service.
