How could you leave out the Marx brothers?

    • Bryan Ruffin

Do what I did: I voted “Other” and typed in Marx Brothers.

I did. I’m the other vote for “other”…

        • Debbie Coley

I also chose “other”. My choice would be George Sanders and Tom Conway.

          • John

…and you see them together in The Falcon’s Brother and Death of a Scoundrel. So the story goes it took a coin toss to decide which would keep the Sanders name in film credits.

            Interesting. I didn’t know that.

  • Bryan Ruffin

Other: the Marx Brothers; Those guys still put me in stiches!!

  • MJKastle

And how can you be leaving out ‘Arthur Shields’ and ‘Barry Fitzgerald’, really now.

  • Gary

I really like a number of the individuals from several of the pairs listed, including Jim Arness, Stacy Keach, Dennis Quaid, and of course both Belushis. However, I’ll have to go with my sentimental choice, the ones who provided me with the most consistent laughs while I was growing up. That would be, of course, the Howards. No, I don’t mean Ron and Clint, but rather Moe, Shemp, and Curly!

Why did you assholes leave out the “Bottoms” brothers???

    • TrippyTrellis

Timothy and Joseph were two of my favorite actors of the ’70s. Sam and Ben were fine also. I would certainly have voted for them. Today’s young, and I’m sure the people who do these polls are, only know the recent and the obvious. Dana Andrews (probably a bigger star that 90% of the actors in that list) and his brother Steve Forrest were well-known acting siblings.

A lot of the pairs or lists had one great performer and not so great “other halfs”, but for sheer quality for both, I had to choose Peter Graves and James Arness. They are also the sentimental favorites, as I grew up with them and you’d never know they were brothers.

The Marx Brothers and the Three Stooges. Three of the six Stooges were brothers — Moe, Curly and Shemp Howard. And comedy actors usually have to be better than dramatic actors.

  • Jackie Burbridge-Casey

    Rob and Chad Lowe
