Watch Sigourney Weaver and Her Co-Stars Talk “Alien” In 1979

Recorded to promote the release of the original Alien back in 1979, the above 23-minute interview features interviews with Scott as well as Sigourney Weaver, Tom Skerritt and H.R. Giger, who created the look of the film’s terrifying xenomorphs. It’s a fascinating behind-the-scenes guide to the movie, providing insight into how the film merged science fiction and horror to dramatic effect. In fact, after seeing Alien: Covenant, I wish the Scott featured here was still making films — as his latest release works overtime to dispel any of the remaining mystery that was established in Alien. In space no one may be able to hear you scream, but as the latest movie proves, they can sure as hell hear you yawn. Our advice, skip the new flick and just watch Alien or Aliens this weekend instead.
