Upon its release in 1967, The Graduate became a pop culture phenomenon due to its exploration of post-collegiate ennui and the relationship between a young man and an older woman. Buoyed by unforgettable performances by Dustin Hoffman, Anne Bancroft, and Katharine Ross (not to mention some classic songs by Simon and Garfunkel), the movie defined a generation.
