“Jason Bourne” and “The Secret Life of Pets” and Other Great DVD & Blu-ray New Releases

It truly is the most wonderful time of the year, as this week’s DVD and Blu-ray new releases offer up some fantastic recent theatrical offerings. We’re willing to bet that a few of these will make great stocking stuffers this year. Check ’em out!

Jason Bourne</em>

After a nine-year-absence, Matt Damon reprises the role of former CIA assassin Jason Bourne in this thrilling chapter in the Robert Ludlum-inspired film series. When Bourne discovers there’s still more to learn about his mysterious past, it sets him on a dangerous search for the truth about his father. Now, he’ll have to use all of his deadly skills in order to stay one step ahead of another Company operative (Vincent Cassell) sent to finish him off once and for all. Julia Stiles, Alicia Vikander, and Tommy Lee Jones co-star. 123 min.

The Secret Life of Pets

In this hit computer-animated tale, Jack Russell Terrier Max (voiced by Louis C.K.) finds his cushy, peaceful life turned upside when his owner adopts Duke (Eric Stonestreet), a shaggy, oversized mongrel. At first at each other’s throats, Max and Duke must work together when they wind up loose on the streets of New York and pursued by Snowball (Kevin Hart), a vicious rabbit who leads a nasty band of mistreated and abandoned animals. Steve Coogan, Ellie Kemper, Bobby Moynihan, Lake Bell, and Dana Carvey also supply voices. 87 min.

Don’t Think Twice

Gifted improv comic Jack (Keegan-Michael Key) counted the fellow members of his Manhattan troupe amongst the best friends he’d ever had in his life. But, when network TV’s preeminent sketch show came knocking for him–and him alone–his colleagues faced a mike-drop moment as to whether their respective struggles were taking them anywhere.
