Great Movie Scenes: Spinal Tap Goes to Stonehenge

“I think that the problem may have been, that there was a Stonehenge monument on the stage that was in danger of being crushed by a dwarf.”

And so we have one of the most iconic scenes from This Is Spinal Tap, the hilarious mock-rockumentary from director Rob Reiner and stars/co-scripters Christopher Guest, Michael McKean and Harry Shearer that follows the disastrous U.S. tour of a raucous British heavy metal band that has seen better days and gone through more than its share of drummers. A biting satire (that feels all too real to the many bands who felt like the flick was based upon their real-life experiences), the film features such classic songs “Sex Farm,” “Big Bottom,” “Gimme Some Money,” “Cups and Cakes,” and many more.
