Remembering Patrick Swayze’s Performance in Ghost

Today would have been Patrick Swayze‘s 64th birthday. Above is the trailer for his most popular film, Ghost (although Point Break and Road House come close). A phenomenon upon its release, this movie was the romance of the 1990s, helping to make Demi Moore a global superstar and earning Whoopi Goldberg a history-making Best Supporting Actress Oscar for her role as a fraudulent psychic who discovers she has the ability to communicate with the dead. (Say it along with me, “Molly, you in danger girl.”) The film still holds up, but more than that it is a haunting reminder of a talent who left us far too soon.
