This article will list my 10 favorite movie quotes. I had a hard time picking just 10 from the hundreds of quotes that I consider the best. This is my opinion: If you think a quote shouldn’t be in my top 10 or you think a quote that’s not in there should be, please feel free to comment.
The top quote should come as no surprise. It is from Gone with the Wind. Rhett Butler, played by Clark Gable, says to Vivien Leigh’s Scarlett O’Hara the parting line “Frankly, my dear, I don’t give a damn.”
My second favorite quote is from Star Wars. Han Solo, played by Harrison Ford, told Luke “May the force be with you.”
My third favorite quote is from the movie Cool Hand Luke. The chain gang captain, played by Strother Martin, tells his charges “What we’ve got here is failure to communicate.”
In forth place is a quote from Tombstone. Doc Holliday, played by Val Kilmer, said “I’m your huckleberry.”
My fifth favorite quote comes from Terminator 2: Judgment Day. The Terminator, played by Arnold Schwarzenegger, said “Hasta la vista, baby.”
Coming in sixth place is a quote from Apocalypse Now. Lt. Col. Bill Kilgore, played by Robert Duvall, proclaims “I love the smell of napalm in the morning.”
In seventh place is a quote from Apollo 13. Astronaut Jim Lovell, played by Tom Hanks, informs NASA “Houston, we have a problem.”
My eighth favorite quote comes from 1983’s Scarface. Tony Montana, played by Al Pacino, exclaims “Say hello to my little friend!”
Coming in ninth place is a quote from the original Poltergeist. Carol Anne Freeling, played by Heather O’Rourke, announces “They’re here.”
And rounding out the list, my tenth favorite quote is from The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers. Gollum, played by Andy Serkis, calls the one ring “My precious.”
