“Lightyear” Director Angus MacLane Is Featured On “The Movies That Made Me”

This summer’s most anticipated animated film is Disney/Pixar’s Lightyear, a rip-roaring origin story for Buzz Lightyear (Chris Evans) — the heroic astronaut whose spin-off merchandise representation is voiced by Tim Allen in the Toy Story saga. It’s shaping up to be a bold and hilarious adventure that is given a unique directorial flair thanks to helmer Angus MacLane (in his solo feature debut).

MacLane guests stars on the brand new episode of The Movies That Made Me, where he shares his evident love of all types of cinema with show hosts Josh Olson and Joe Dante. As one can expect, the director has a clear affection for blockbusters, but he also is an avid appreciator of classic arthouse fare — something that bodes very well for the aesthetic of Lightyear when it hits theaters on June 17th.
