Disney continues to dominate the box office with its ownership of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and Star Wars franchises, as well as its live-action remakes of its own back catalog. With the latest version of The Lion King still in theaters, the company’s other lavish re-envisioning of an animated classic comes to DVD and Blu-ray on September 10th.
We are, of course, talking about Aladdin. Will Smith does an incredible job of taking over the role made famous by Robin Williams in this dazzling blend of live action and CGI. Mena Massoud shines as the title character, a clever street thief who falls hard for Princess Jasmine (Naomi Scott). When he stumbles upon a magic lamp inhabited by the lovable, mischevious and magical Genie (Smith), he discovers, well, a whole new world.
