Remembering “Gun Crazy” Star Peggy Cummins

It is our sad duty to report that in this new year, another icon has left us. Peggy Cummins, the Irish character actress who is perhaps best known for her role in the 1950 noir classic Gun Crazy, died in London on December 29th following a stroke. She was 92.

During her two-decade career she starred in pictures large and small, sharing the screen with icons like Dana Andrews (in arguably her second most-popular role in 1956’s Night of the Demon) and Edward G. Robinson.

Whether performing in a family friendly effort like Green Grass of Wyoming or the more mature If This Be Sin, Cummins brought a deeply human spin to whatever characters she portrayed — ensuring her spot in the heart of film buffs everywhere, all of whom mourn her passing.
