When the great Della Reese passed away at the age of 86 last month, she left behind decades of entertainment that will last forever. One of her best-known projects was the 1994-2003 drama series Touched by an Angel, playing the sarcastic-but-loving boss to Roma Downey‘s traveling angel character Monica. The show’s hopeful message and likable characters made it a prime time staple, and gave Reese — who was also an extremely accomplished and acclaimed jazz and gospel singer — the opportunity to show off her deeply naturalistic acting style on a weekly basis.
