Quick question: Who can take a sunrise, sprinkle it with dew, cover it in chocolate and a miracle or two? The Candy Man can! I am of course talking about Willy Wonka, the most joyful maker of treats and confections ever. Thanks to the wondrous performance of Gene Wilder in Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, the character has become an absolute favorite for children of all ages! (Which explains why his enduring appeal has led to the recent premiere of a Broadway musical and, perhaps more confusingly, Tom & Jerry: Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory). Recently, Funko further immortalized the character with one of their Pop! vinyl toys, which is 3 3/4 inches of Pure Imagination! While Willy here doesn’t have any Oompa Loompas to keep him company as of yet, I can only imagine what delicious mischief he can get up to while displayed on your shelf or desk. All these years later and the Candy Man is still making the world taste good. That is some delightful movie magic right there, and without all the empty calories too!
