Movie Trailer of the Day: The Wizard of Oz

With the weekend upon us, we can think of no better way to spend the next few days than by sitting back and relaxing with a classic film. And what film is more timeless than The Wizard of Oz? 1939’s blockbuster adaptation of L. Frank Baum’s beloved fantasy tale of Kansas farmgirl Dorothy (Judy Garland) who, along with her beloved dog Toto, are whisked away to the wonderful world of Oz via a tornado. Once there, Dorothy travels to Emerald City with the help of her new friends the Scarecrow, the Tin Woodsman, the Cowardly Lion, with hopes that the Wizard of Oz can help her find a way to go home — all the while being chased by the Wicked Witch of the West. But you know the story, and you know the songs! They are so deeply embedded in our collective pop culture DNA at this point. If it’s been awhile since you’ve been down the Yellow Brick Road, we encourage you to watch the film again and you’ll notice that none of the film’s magic and luster has dimmed almost 80 years later. There’s no place like home, and there’s nothing like The Wizard of Oz, a masterpiece that is truly unmatched.
