There is no better way to kick off this new series of articles than with my personal pick for the funniest sitcom moment of all time: The driving test scene from the classic 1979 Taxi episode “Reverend Jim: A Space Odyssey.” Some context, in this installment the gang from the Sunshine Cab Company re-encounter burnout Reverend Jim Ignatowski (played by a scene-stealing Christopher Lloyd) and decide to get him a job. There’s just one problem: He needs to get his license. His taking of a driver’s test results in the hilarity you see above. What does a yellow light mean? Comic genius.
