Real talk: I’ve had Carly Simon’s “Let the River Run” stuck in my head pretty much constantly since Working Girl premiered in 1988. Sure, there are periods where I won’t think of it, but it is always there, lying in wait until I hear it at a supermarket and suddenly my brain is once again coming to the edge, running on the water. (I have a similar issue with the theme song from Howard the Duck, yet, oddly, I’m not nearly as bothered by that one).
