Trailer of the Day: The Taking of Pelham One Two Three

Since everyone is getting back to work today, I got to thinking about public transportation and how fantastic of a feat of human ingenuity our various mass transit systems across America are. This in turn got me remembering that it’s been awhile since I have seen the 1974 crime caper The Taking of Pelham One Two Three (whose title refers to a NYC subway car that gets involved in an inventive heist). The film stars Walter Matthau and Robert Shaw, and was a huge influence on Quentin Tarantino’s Reservoir Dogs. Today it remains as exciting as ever, and it also features a glimpse at a now-vanished New York City. Check it out when you return home from your own commute tonight, and gesundheit.
