Six Pix presents a sextet of movie posters representing a particular actor/director/genre. You pick the one you feel is visually the most artistic or best sums up the film.
This time Six Pix peers at posters featuring crystal balls.
Included are: The Return of Chandu (1934); Supernatural (1933); Labyrinth (1986); Bunco Squad (1950); The Illusionist (2006); and Dorothy of Oz (2012).
Two of the better posters here make use of the glass orb as opposed to just showing it off. David Bowie’s Goblin King seems to hold the fate of Jennifer Connelly’s Sarah in the palm of his hand. The composition of the Dorothy of Oz poster does a fantastic job referencing the ’39 classic while giving it a fresh update. But the gorgeous shadowing and otherworldly glow on Supernatural makes it the clear winner here. Crystal clear.
