All summer long at MovieFanFare we will be celebrating the films of 1982, and we are kicking things off with a movie that turns 40 this weekend: Grease 2. Available in a new 40th Anniversary Limited Edition Steelbook from Paramount, the film returns viewers to the rockin’ halls of Rydell High, where straight-arrow transfer Michael Carrington (Maxwell Caulfield) is having trouble fitting in. Will his disguise as a mysterious motorcyclist win over intrigued Pink Lady Stephanie Zinone (Michelle Pfeiffer)…but start a rumble with teed-off T-Bird leader Johnny Nogerelli (Adrian Zmed)? This music and fun-filled ’60s sequel also stars Lorna Luft, Tab Hunter, Eve Arden, Didi Conn. Originally a box office disaster, Grease 2 has gone on to become a massive cult hit — even spawning a stage show overseas. Despite the absence of John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John, Grease 2 is packed with charm, some really inventive musical numbers, and more goofy humor than its predecessor, earning it an established place in popular culture. We’ve taken a still from the film and given it a humorous caption. Be a cool rider and do the same in the comments!
