As we continue celebrating the 35th anniversary of notable films from 1985, we wanted to use the year’s quirkiest film — Pee-Wee’s Big Adventure — as the basis for our latest Create-A-Caption. A financial and cult success (critical, not so much, as this article from our archives illustrates), Tim Burton‘s debut feature film served as a vehicle to introduce the wackiness of Paul Reubens‘ manchild character to a global moviegoing audience. The flick’s threadbare plot — Pee-Wee travels across the country in search of his beloved stolen bike — is just a stage upon which one wacky scene after another is laid upon. It remains a joyous and goofy cinematic experience that is unlike anything else…including the subsequent Pee-Wee features. We’ve taken a still from the film and given it a comedic caption. Do the same in the comments, and you tell ’em that Large Marge sent ya!
