When it comes to pure movie magic, there’s nothing quite like a classic musical. Be it Oklahoma! (which told people how to spell while singing), The Wizard of Oz, The Sound of Music West Side Story, Hello Dolly!, Mary Poppins or countless others, these films are unmatched in terms of their production values, choreography, performances, and, most of all, unforgettable songs.
Which brings us to this weekend’s Open Thread. We want to know what your favorite classic musical is and why. Which song-and-dance spectacular from the Golden Age of Hollywood did you choose? What songs make it so memorable to you? Sound off below, and if you have more than one favorite, that’s fine too. We won’t tell anyone!
