Jones quickly wins the respect of the townsfolk, and the attention of Cherry de Longpre (Loretta Young), the real crook\u2019s gal who just wants to use the unsuspecting Jones to help Jarrad evade capture. But who is the comely cowgirl meant to ride off into the sunset with? William Demarest also stars in this funny sagebrusher, based on the book &#8220;Useless Cowboy&#8221; by Alan Le May.<\/p>\n<p><em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.moviesunlimited.com\/murder-he-says\/025192097058\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">Murder, He Says<\/a><\/em> (1945)<\/p>\n<p>Pollster Pete Marshall (Fred MacMurray), stranded in the Ozarks, finds himself up to his ears in homicidal hillbillies, hidden loot, and radium deposits in this delightfully daffy dark comedy. Pete becomes embroiled in the bizarre backwoods Fleagle clan\u2019s search for $70,000 in bank robbery cash stolen by one of their kin. Marjorie Main also stars as Fleagle matriarch, Mamie, and Peter Whitney plays her twin sons Mert and Bert (who\u2019s got a &#8220;trick back&#8221;); with Helen Walker, Barbara Pepper. <\/p>\n<p><em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.moviesunlimited.com\/sorry-wrong-number\/032429287380\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">Sorry, Wrong Number<\/a><\/em> (1948)<\/p>\n<p>Classic suspense thriller stars Barbara Stanwyck in her Oscar-nominated role as Leona Stevenson, a bedridden woman who accidentally hears a murder being planned over the telephone. And as she slowly begins to realize that she is the intended victim, Leona must try and stop the plot before she&#8217;s disconnected&#8230;permanently. With Burt Lancaster, Ann Richards, Wendell Corey.<\/p>\n<p><em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.moviesunlimited.com\/sands-of-iwo-jima\/887090081900\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">Sands of Iwo Jima<\/a><\/em> (1949)<\/p>\n<p>One of the all-time great war movies, powerfully recounting the Allied assault on Japan in the last days of World War II, earned star John Wayne his first Best Actor Oscar nomination for his role as the battle-scarred Marine sergeant leading his men into combat. The superb action scenes were shot at the actual Pacific locales; Forrest Tucker, Richard Jaeckel, John Agar also star. <\/p>\n<p><em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.moviesunlimited.com\/too-late-for-tears\/644827271726\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">Too Late for Tears<\/a><\/em> (1949)<\/p>\n<p>Lizabeth Scott&#8217;s classic &#8220;femme fatale&#8221; performance as Jane Palmer highlights this film noir favorite, as she and husband Alan (Arthur Kennedy) get mixed up in deceit, blackmail, and murder after a bag of money is mistakenly thrown into her car. While Alan wants no part of keeping the cash and argues for them to return it to its rightful owner, Jane&#8217;s greed gets the better of her and she proceeds down a dark and secretive path. Dan Duryea also stars.
