This Friday kicks off the first weekend of May, which means it’s also the unofficial start of the Summer 2026 film season. Sure, it’s a season with the usual superhero fare (Spider-Man: Brand New Day, Supergirl), reboots (Masters of the Universe, Scary Movie), and Disney’s live-action Moana remake. But there are also long-awaited sequels to The Devil Wears Prada, Practical Magic, and the Toy Story franchise. And the warm weather months will bring audiences Christopher Nolan’s take on the Ancient Greek saga of Ulysses (The Odyssey), Steven Spielberg’s latest sci-fi opus (Disclosure Day), and an offbeat ovine whodunit (The Sheep Detectives).
