On June 23, 1989, Tim Burton‘s eagerly anticipated Batman film hit theaters. For the entire summer the world was caught up in Batmania thanks to the Michael Keaton/Jack Nicholson comic book film. From hearing Prince’s “Batdance” in constant rotation to people getting the Batman logo shaved into the back of their heads, it was a wild time that honored Bob Kane and Bill Finger’s legendary crimefighter.
