Did you know that now, there’s even a website that reviews the film reviewers? Yes, it’s come to that.

With print film critics losing their jobs one after the other, and the passing of Roger Ebert sort of putting an exclamation point on the era that saw movie criticism transform from¬†the niche pursuit of hoity-toity academics¬†to an everyman’s (and I mean every man’s almost literally) pastime, and the culture of the Internet not only democratizing the practice but enabling viewers to “criticize” right back…it’s a worthy question to ask: Is film criticism dead?
