yes liked that movie and heard they were making a sequel

How about none of the above?

  • Antone

A few fine movies—mostly set in hotels and not on your list: Top Hat, Born Yesterday, The Thin Man, Charade & Local Hero.

One of the best I have ever seen was “Identity” with John Cusack and Ray Liotta. It was a real thriller movie and kept you quessing to the end.

I’d forgotten about that one. It was terrifying and brilliant. Thanks for reminding me.

i believe that was a motel and not a hotel…and yes, i also don’t believe holiday inn should be considered a hotel either (although i did vote for it nonetheless…)

Ok rocky-o, I have another John Cusack movie “1408″ and it took place in the Dolphin Hotel. It co-starred Samuel L Jackson. Have you seen either of these movies I mentioned?

“Holiday Inn”……great music by Irving Berlin plus a good cast. Marjorie Reynolds a pretty good dancer to keep up with Fred Astaire, Bing Crosby supplied the memorable vocals, and a nice mixture of music and comedy from 1942.

I think the Inn was a restaurant and show place not a hotel.

    • John M

You’re absolutely right. I never did say it was a hotel….I wonder why Holiday Inns chose that name for their motels….????

Movies that have a good part of their funny moments in a hotel are Lucky Partners with Ronald Colman and Ginger Rogers and My Favorite Wife with Irene Dunne and Cary Grant, but I think my favorite is “Thrill of a Romance” with Esther Williams and Van Johnson.

    The Shining.

Only a portion of the film takes place in a hotel, but I’ve got to give some love to the Happiness Hotel from The Great Muppet Caper. “Wow, if that’s the Happiness Hotel I’d hate to see what the sad one looks like.” – Fozzie Bear

Underrated in my opinion, despite the bad reviews, was “Under The Rainbow”. (OK so I love bad movies, why else would I have Eros from Plan 9 as my avatar?)

Key Largo is my favorite movie set in a hotel.
