In 1960 John Sturges directed the classic western film The Magnificent Seven. Based on the Japanese film Seven Samurai, the all star cast included Yul Brynner, Eli Wallach, Steve McQueen, James Coburn, Robert Vaughn, Charles Bronson, Horst Buchholz, and Brad Dexter.
