Just watched Bridges in "Iceman Cometh," Mr. Chamberlain. You're right, he was terrific in it. Wasn't sure he was going to pull it off at first, but, by the end, you really felt his character's desperation.

Winter Kills was a freaky movie but After having a hard time finding it it's one of two movies I would never loan to anyone.

Thunderbolt and Lightfoot is a classic that I never get tired of watching. Bridges portrayal of a young wide eyed kid out for the time of his life was a cinematic gem. He was the perfect foil for Eastwood and George Kennedy. I'm laughing now at his disguised blond putting the make on the time keeper. Who beat him out for the Oscar?

Let's not forget Jeff Bridges' outstanding supporting role as the shrink in K-Pax. It must not be easy playing opposite such an accomplished actor as Kevin Spacey, but Mr. Bridges, in my opinion, succeeded admirably. I'm happy to see that Jeff Bridges is finally getting the recognition he deserves.

I believe that Fat City was one of the best movies made by Bridges as well as one of the best and gritty-est movies ever made about boxing.
His work is outstanding and the story is one of quiet desperation with moments of personal glory.

Any time that it is on I will make a point to watch it.

Peter:
All terriific choices. I left The Fisher King and Against all Odds off the list becuase I thought they were pretty popular. the other chocies could have easily been added to my list. Just goes to show you: Jeff Bridges has done some fine work in all sorts of movies.

Warren:
I agree Bridges was quite creepy in the american remake of The Vanishing, but the original to me was such a classic, that the entire film disappointed me. But thanks for mentioning it: Bridges was terrif.
