Even more famous than his gruff drawl which is the voice-over to commercials such as Coors beer, the American Beef Council, and Dodge Ram trucks, is the mustache of Sam Elliott. Naturally everyone loves Burt Reynolds’ mustache, which we featured in an earlier post, but the one Sam Elliott cultivates practically has a life of its own!
For sure Elliott is best known for his cowboy persona (The Sacketts, Shadow Riders, Conagher, Tombstone, The Big Lebowski), but his non-western—and non-mustachioed—roles are just as accomplished (Mask, Rush, The Contender, We Were Soldiers, Hulk).

I LOVE him in those neat Louis Lamour westerns.....he is perfect!
I BELIEVE THAT SAM IS RIGHT THERE WITH THE DUKE AND EASTWOOD. HE HAS A GREAT VOICE AND THE PERSONALITY TO GO WITH IT. I THINK HE PLAY ANY ROLE WHETHER IT BE GOOD GUY BAD GUY OR COMEDY. HE IS JUST A GREAT ACTOR.
I THINK THAT SAM ELLIOT SHOULD GET A LOT MORE RECOGNITION THAN HE RECEIVES, BECAUSE HE HAS AN INCREDIBLE TRACK RECORD IN FILMS FOR HIS ACTING CHOPS. AND THAT HE'S MARRIED TO ONE OF THE MOST BEAUTIFUL WOMEN IN HOLLYWOOD..KATHERINE ROSS..ENOUGH SAID...FRANK COLLETT.
I liked his shirt in MASK, it said "Moustache rides for free!"
Sorry but you have the first three at least wrong!
The first is The Sacketts, where he plays cards in the mining camp. The third is Gettysburg The hat gives it away and nine it the Shadow Riders. And where is The Boy Scout and the Ranger? Don't get one of my favourite actors mixed up!

I have been a Sam Elliott fan from day one. I agree he should receive more recognition on his acting. I dated a tall handsome cowboy who had the Sam Elliot look and body language, and it was fun to have people stop and stare and actualy ask if he was Sam Elliot.
