I don't know if they qualify as a team but they did make some good ones together. Jack Lemmon and Walter Matthau

I liked your work on Laurel & Hardy's last film ATOLL K. Although very weak, owing to Stan's illness, it does have a certain charm to it. I highly recommend the book you mention about the film as it listed four different film versions in the English language--apparently two have never surfaced.

While I like your choices, please take a look at Harold Lloyd & Jobyna Ralston in classics like GIRL SHY, THE FRESHMAN, & THE KID BROTHER. I feel This pair is a worthy addition to your list.

Yes, Ole Olsen and Chic Johnson were indeeed a great comedy duo (I would love to have seen their version of Hellzapoppin' on Broadway), but I left them out because their four-film Universal career didn't show them at their best. Also, I've yet to catch their final film, See My Lawyer. I can, however, urge anyone unfamiliar with O&J to see 1943'S Crazy House.

Yes, Olsen and Johnson are SOOO under-rated! I saw a revival of their show HELLZAPOPPIN' many years back with Jerry Lewis.
