Quick! 1-10, One Movie Title for Every Number

Proof that yes, Movie Irv dares to roll with zero advance on a question:

Irv didn’t know we’d have accepted the actual number (or spelled-out version of the number, etc.) at any position in the title (as in The Fifth Element counting for “5,” or Six Days, Seven Nights counting for either “6″ or “7″), but hey, he didn’t ask either before he plowed ahead! 2001: A Space Odyssey, of course, would not count for “2,” but I really see no reason to quibble over the “and-a-half” titles passing muster. Yuma‘s a tough call, but let’s not get all cruel. I sense from his very first title he’s striving for originality.

Once again, we turn the challenge to you below. Let’s see your Top 10 List of 1-10 Movie Titles.

(Previous challenge: The Movie Alphabet A-Z)

  • JOE

HEY  iRV  FOR  #6  HOW  ABOUT 6 PACK  WITH  KENNY  RODGERS

  • Norman Gillen

    1 - 2 – 3: “One, Two, Three”
    4: “4 for Texas”
    5. “Five Against the House”
    6. (I give up)
    7. “Woman Times Seven”
    8. (Can’t think of one)
    9. “The Ninth Gate”
    10. “The 10th Victim”

Best I could do with 6 and 8 (without cheating) is “Surfside 6″ and “Eight is Enough,” but they’re TV shows, not films.
That was tougher than I thought.

In the interest of not only originality but personal preference and, well, going for it…here goes: 2001:  A Space Odyssey…its my fave movie of all time and does have #1 in first word of title…give?Double Indemnity…told you this would be a different spin, but how about doing a ‘double take’ once?Three on a Match…Ok, natch!Forever Young…this is where am starting to go off the rails a bit, but bear with me…The 5000 Fingers of Dr. T…at least this entry has the requisite # in the pole position…;)Blazing Six Shooters…Ok, so its not the first word…sorry but were still having fun!The Seven Samurai…was really surprised this one wasnt off the board, at least yetEight Men Out…see above, but will take it as its really hard not to repeat on this challenge Nine to Five (or is it 9 to 5?)…everybody has to have one get out a jail free card for a repeater :(Tin Pan Alley…this was my favorite pick and in keeping with Golden Age love…viva la difference!

    • Dog888k

Going past the tens there is the old movie 13 Women, known for being Peg Entwistle’s only movie before she jumped off the Hollywood sign.

      • Wayne P.

I like Plan 9 from Outer Space (worst movie in history?) so will gladly trade you one of my wacky “sounds like a number” choices for it…had actually thought of it but didnt go back online in time to make the change…its too bad when you have to copy anothers pick but gotta admit its a tough challenge to be different.  My spacing went haywire too…my list was vertical but when had to copy & paste while checking the spelling of a film title, it wound up horizontal…oh well…wish I had come with 3 Godfathers also but at least have both versions of it :)

        • Dog888k

I have 2 lists of the 3s becuz I tried to delete the first one but could only collapse it and it came back online.  There is the old Sophia Loren WW2 movie Two Women, and there is the rodeo movie Eight Seconds.

          • Wayne P.

Match those and raise you Five Graves to Cairo!

  • Dog888k

Can right now think of some threes: Three Little Pigs, Three Little Bops, Three Texas Steers, Three in the Attic, Three Godfathers, Three Cabalerros

  • Dog888k

There is Number One, with Heston as a football hero.  And Plan 9 from Outer Space.  I thought of a bunch of Threes movies; 3 Little Pigs, 3 Little Bops, 3 Texas Steers, 3 Godfathers. 3 in the Attic, and 3 Cabalerros.

    • GeorgeDAllen

I can think of at least one “19″ title….well, OK, I cheated and looked it up…..but I think we could actually argue for counting the 1984 version of 1984, since onscreen it’s presented as “Nineteen Eighty-Four” :) At any rate, well done for taking us up to 20!

      • LaRue Watts

I thought of the Nineteen Eighty-Four…but chickened out….Hey I’m on your side. It works for me!

        • alohajoe

19 Miles to Vegas or 19 months would certainly work.
