While the Rolling Stones/Beatles/Mamas and Papas/etc. Rock shows have been a pleasure to view once again (and often)....I don't think Sullivan's family/producers realize how much it would mean to see a compilation of the already-established LEGENDS who performed on that program. Judy Garland was at her best with Ed, delivering powerhouse versions of "Smile" and "By Myself." Wonderful torch singer Roberta Sherwood was pulled back on stage after her first number to answer Ed's request for her emotional delivery of "Farewell to Arms" to promote the "new" (then!) movie starring Rock Hudson and Jennifer Jones. Pearl Bailey was always a pleasure to watch, combining her saucy humor with her distinctive singing. Jack Jones, Tom Jones, Lana Cantrell, Liza Minnelli and others in their youth made it clear why they would be packing night clubs and concert halls very, VERY soon. Football great Dick "Night Train" Lane was just introduced, along with his Blues Queen wife, Dinah Washington (wraspped in white mink) from the audience! So many, many vivid moments of Real Stars bringing their greatness to the Ed Sullivan Show deserve to be seen (and heard) once again!

Blu-Ray discs have a little tteber picture and sound quality, but unless the blu-ray is only a few dollars more than the regular I wouldn't bother. You can't tell that much difference, especially for the price of new blu-rays.
