When referencing "Salem's Lot" I assume you are talking about the mini-series, not the edited version. Truly a TV horror classic!
I enjoy a were-priest as much as the next guy, but have to vote Children of the Corn (1988). I'm very happy to see the recent remake isn't listed here. Wow... talk about a waste of an hour and half.
"Wendy? Darling? Light, of my life. I'm not gonna hurt ya. You didn't let me finish my sentence. I said, I'm not gonna hurt ya. I'm just going to bash your brains in."
I love the Shining! These polls are my most favorite things on the site!
As a film, apart from a novel, THE SHINING is excellent. But it IS NOT a good adaptation of the novel. Period. Too bad THE LANGOLIERS weren't on the list, it was a fair adaptation.
I concur with Nancy re The Shining.
And I'm going off the reservation as well by picking The Stand, a book truly worthy of a miniseries...and a darn good one to boot.
The Shawshank Redemption is my favorite Stephen King adaptation and it is not on the list.
