  1. Linda Mori says:

Actually, my favorite Kurt Russell movie role is as Dean Proffitt in Overboard with Goldie Hawn.

  2. mike jaral says:

I honestly could not vote in the poll cause my favorite roll is overboard.

  3. S Geworsky says:

I'll still stick with "Tombstone", but I agree with Linda and Mike..."Overboard"...a fantastic movie, and magnificent acting by Goldie and Kurt. I had forgotten all about that flick.

  4. buzz daly says:

rudy russo was a devious, irreverent, completely amoral used car salesman, with ambitions to make better use of his talent as a politician. Kurt was never better and showed a manic comedic side that was oscar worthy. this is the funniest movie ever made, as it hilariously mocks virtually every iconic american value/virtue this country supposedly embraces.

  5. Brian Shoff says:

I'm a little let down. Previous posts about Big Trouble had me hopeful it'd be on the list. ;-)

  6. Rita says:

I voted for Tombstone but have to agree Overboard was a great role for Russell.

  7. Rob says:

my favorite Kurt Russell film of the films listed is "The Thing" - in my opinion, a grossly underrated entry in the sci-fi thriller genre - my favorite Kurt Russell performance is the distraught husband in "Breakdown"

  8. Jim says:

    How about "Stargate"?

  9. Mike L says:

"Breakdown" was a very good underated movie...Kurt Russell was excellent. "Breakdown" and "Tombstone", my two favorites of Kurt.

  10. Rosemary Moore says:

His role in the movie "Soldier" is the one I think is best. I don't know the character's name.

  11. Mark Doran says:

    Snake Bliskin !!!!

  12. jala says:

My fave was 'Back draft" also not on the list.

  13. Lois says:

By far, "Overboard" is my favorite! That wins handsdown.

  14. Mickey says:

Kurt & Goldie were both super in 'Overboard.' I LMAO!!!! I purchased the DVD.

  15. John says:

What about "Tequila Sunrise" with Mel @#$%^ Gibson?

  16. Robert says:

    Overboard, never heard of it.

  17. Helmut says:

I think Captain Ron and Executive Decision should be on the list.

  18. Jean Craven says:

I figured my favorite movie of his wouldn't be in the list. I loved him in Breakdown. Need more movies like that. Overboard would be my 2nd choice.I own both.

  19. uncle gibby says:

Boy, Kurt has been around for a long time and he still does very good work. The mere fact that so many of his good roles weren't even on the list is a testament to his "staying" power. I just saw "The Thing" again and his character was pretty darn good but his Wyatt Earp was fabulous (sorry Kevin!). "Are you gonna pull that smokewagon or are just gonna bleed".

  20. Marjorie says:

I'm with the folks that think you missed the best ones:
Soldier (I think his name/model was Todd)
    Overboard (I'm drawing a blank)
    Cash in Tango and Cash

I enjoyed StarGate but I don't know that his tortured military man performance holds the same luster after seeing Soldier.

The only one on the list I'd consider would be Big Trouble in Little China.

  21. steve mihal says:

Buzz Daly said it all! & great Jack Warden.

  22. Rick says:

Inever stopped to think about it, but Kurt Russell really is a versitile actor. I was just talking about him with my brother, about a guest role on TVs Lost in Spsce, from when he was a kid. Comedys like Overboard, Dramas like Tombstone and Sci/Fi Horror like the Thingn were all great. I loved them all. But to tie me down to one role, I would say Jack Burton, Big Trouble in Little China!

  23. Ellie says:

    Overboard....with Goldie Hawn...good movie

  24. Mario Brescio says:

    Silkwood
Even though it’s not officially a “Kurt Russell” film and his role wasn’t very big, it was however, an important role and he was excellent in it.

  25. J Nicholas says:

I would have preferred they had included Executive Decision on the list. That is a good movie and the character Kurt Russell played sticks with you after the movie has ended.

  26. Stephen Farris says:

How about one of his first roles: The kid who Elvis paid to kick him in the shin, "in It Happened at the World's Fair"!!!

  27. Daniel says:

I too settled for a lesser role to my preferred role, that of "Overboard". How did you all miss Jack Burton?

  28. juneaumac says:

This was a tough one because there are so many awesome roles Kurt Russell played that are on the list and not listed.

  29. Leslie says:

I loved Overboard, but my husband's favorite Kurt Russell movie is Silkwood. I have 1001 favorite movies so it's hard to narrow down.

  30. Warren Brown says:

One of my favorite actors. Don't forget his performance in Breakdown--terrific action/suspense movie. And, of course, there's Captain Ron. I've got to say, though, that scene in Used Cars when he's shooting a pirate T.V. ad from his competitor's lot and shouts the car price is "too f**kin high" before smashing the car windshield---I'm still laughing at that one.

  31. John Wilson says:

Many great movies and it is hard to say which is best; however, don't forget "3000 Miles to Graceland?" as well.

  32. Vincent B. Talbot says:

Hey uncle gibby, I agree with you but i prefer the line,
"Go ahead jerk it. Jerk that smokewagon and see what happens. :-)

  33. bev higgins says:

overboard, backdraft - both fantastic movies showing him at his best in very different roles.

  34. lynn says:

and what about 3000 miles to graceland?

  35. Susan says:

Actually, my favorite Kurt Russell movie is "The Best of Times" with Robin Williams. It's hilarious and sweet at the same time. Plus... I love football and can relate to watching a completely crap game over doing something worthwhile, LOL! :)

  36. Doug says:

Captain Ron was by far the best Kurt movie...but Tombstone tops the list as shown...

    "You tell'em I'm coming..and I'm bringing Hell with me!"

  37. Trish says:

Overboard is really my favorite but he makes The Thing one of my favorite horror movies. And nobody saw Tango and Cash???? Loved Tombstone and Escape from New York, too.

  38. Terri says:

Can't vote.. my fav is Overboard and it's not on the list.
