My first thought was Bill Murray, because he was extremely successful in film, had more staying power than Aykroyd, Crystal, or Chase, and crossed over successfully into dramatic roles. Then I saw Eddie Murphy's name. He's done all the same things, and was probably an even bigger box office draw than Murray. Adam Sandler makes hit after hit, but many of them are just like each other. Murphy for the win.
