  1. Steve in Sacramento says:

I might have liked to have seen The Others on here, though I recognize that it probably wasn't due to its similarity to The Sixth Sense (which I voted for). That being said, I think the twist in The Others works incredibly well, making the story a heartbreaking one, a tale of terrible loss and longing.

  2. Tony in Wi says:

    Shutter Island.....Leo

  3. mike mateje says:

'Seven' with Brad and Morgan should have been on the list.

  4. David says:

I have to admit I haven't seen some of the other candidates. I voted for Planet Of The Apes. I still remember the first time I saw the movie back in that era and the shock I experienced at the end. I had no idea!!

  5. Steve says:

If you're going to include The Sixth Sense, you should include Dead and Buried. Same twist ending, but predated Sixth Sense by several years.

  6. rvictor says:

    The Crying Game ?????

  7. Sam says:

While coming in 4th in this pole I think Witness for the Prosecution should have tied for 1st place. A true classic with a stellar cast and an irresistible Agatha Christie story.

  8. Stan says:

The Usual Suspects was my vote. I never caught on until the closing scene what was being set up. Casablanca really should have been on the list because of how the inspector didn't interfere or drop the dime on Rick and let him go when it would have benefitted him on turning him in and collecting the price on his head and murdering a German Officer.

  9. Paul Emery says:

    THE CRYING GAME

  10. Grace says:

I agree with the others that have submitted The Crying Game - one of my favorite movies.

  11. Lou Ann says:

The list was good, but would have added Primal Fear!

  12. Pat says:

Where's The Departed. Finally Martin Scorcese wins an Oscar and his movie doesn't even make the list! Unbelieveable!

  13. Raif says:

    The Crying Game! Seven! Bambi!

  14. Tish says:

The Spanish Prisoner is in my top 2 twist endings. A great film with an end you just don't see comin'...

  15. Cindy says:

I loved spanish prisoner and No way out But... No Body double?? (DePalma) or No Breaking the waves?(Lars Von Trier)that ending nailed me to my seat!!!
Also, the underneath (Soderbergh's first film) was terrific!

  16. Trippy Trellis says:

I chose "Witness for the Prosecution", the only movie that I can remember with a TRIPLE twist ending.

That said, the most important twist ending of all time belongs to "Diabolique", a movie that I don't like all that much. "Diabolique" was the FIRST one with that particular twist and the daddy and granddaddy of "Hush... Hush, Sweet Charlotte", "Games", Elizabeth Taylor's "Night Watch", "Scream of Fear" and at least two dozen more that I can't recall at this moment.

  17. julia says:

I would have added "seconds" by john frankenheimer. Murder on the Orient Express really shocked me though!

  18. Randeroo says:

I would have included The Sting; and its forerunner, A Big Hand for the Little Lady.

  19. Bill Stevenson says:

I liked Lindsey Lohans last film I know who killed me and Liam Neeson's Taken.

  20. Charl Como says:

Psycho comes in a close second, and I would add to the list Don't Look Now.

    Charl

  21. Rick says:

First of all...any Agatha Christie movie is always leaving you with questions (fantastic writer) I have to say that some of the above are also excellent whodunnit endings but I think one of my favorites is "Wild Things"... and the newly released "Law Abiding Citizen"

  22. DeMeio says:

Of the listed items I voted for LES DIABOLIQUES from 1955. I would also have included THE ITALIAN JOB from 1969. Unfortunately both of these were remade with "don't-waste-your-time" versions that are still available. More recent, I'd have included IDENTITY from 2003.
How could a "twist" list not include a Chubby Checker movie?

  23. Pete says:

How could you leave out LIMBO?

  24. Marc says:

I would have to say either the original "And Then There Were None" or David Fincher's "The Game" deserve a spot on this list.

Only because I couldn't vote on your poll as I hadn't seen a few of them. Now I'm going to check out Diabolique and Murder on the Orient Express to see what I've been missing!

  25. DeMeio says:

Marc, be sure to get the French version of "Les Diaboliques" with Simone Signoret.
If you're looking for a film with a twist, try "Let The Right One In". The 2nd viewing is better because then you understand some of what's been unexplained. Enjoy.

  26. James says:

Why has no one mentioned Chinatown?

  27. Of the list provided, I couldn't choose between "the Sixth Sense" and the "Usual Suspects" they were both excellent reveals. Also, the "Game" with Sean Penn and Michael Douglas was a surprise to me...I know there are more but I can't think of them all right now. You should also have "Forrest Gump" on the list that revealed ends that were both entertaining and surprising and funny throughout the whole movie!
    Love,
    CyndiL

  28. ted says:

I liked primal fear ed norton was great.

  29. Lenny says:

What happened to Grease for best High School movie?

  30. Pamela Walker says:

I thought the movie with the best twist ending that I've ever watched, was "Dead Again."

  31. DIRK says:

yeah, I would have included The Sting here. Only because you really didn't mind being duped! That was fun, you left the theatre smiling even after they Gotcha!

  32. Jackie says:

I am really surprised that nobody picked " Hide and Seek" Are any of you Twitter folks old enough to remember "Bunny Lake is Missing" with Carol Lynley ?(I might have spelled her name wrong)
It is an old B/W thriller.
