MovieFrightFare: Ghouly’s Ghoulash

Seen enough Saw? Had your fill of Paranormal Activity? Squeamish about a trip to Germany (via the Netherlands) to observe The Human Centipede? Never fear, you won't need to be an "ugly American" fan of the uncanny! Ghouly Irv's ready to serve up a fine menu of fear as he savors the very best by artisans of shock from around the world:

Your humble horror host previously let the dogs out in Boo Zoo Revue, and paid tribute to some of the loveliest leading ladies of the shrieky screen in Boo-tiful Screamers. It's scary how much fun there is to be had visiting Ghouly Irv's crypt...

I knew I needed to get to this one sooner than later especially since Mr. Vampire was here (though people out there do not get the Tai Seng version, get the Fortune Star/Fox release, well unfortunately it is OOP and I just looked and I see that the secondary market is quite expensive). If you end up liking Mr. Vampire you will have to get Sammo Hung's Spooky Encounters. Both are fun, full of comedy, not really spooky. However, if you like chickens (unlike Harry Angel) you might not want to watch.

My favorite South Korean horror/ghost story has to be A Tale of Two Sisters which (of course) was remade as The Uninvited (2009). I am hoping Gholy Irv and George have seen that one.

But there is several on this horror cast that I need to see.

Good to see The Vanishing on there, though not scary until the ending :D . Diabolique is an awesome film though probably not scary for most here unless they dislike pools and disappearing bodies.

A Tale of Two Sisters just went on my watch list! (After I get through Boxer's Omen, of course.)
